On the Course: Keep a large towel with you. Before your round (and sometimes during), wet one end of the towel. After each shot, clean the club by wiping it with the wet end, then dry it with the dry end.

Before a Tournament or Golf Trip: Bring all your clubs inside for a thorough cleaning. Start by filling a bucket with warm, soapy water (Dawn dish soap works great). Use a soft metal brush for the grooves of your irons and a nylon brush for your driver, 3-wood, and hybrid. Scrub the grooves, backs, and soles of the clubs, then dry them completely.

Cleaning the Grips: Soak a washcloth in fresh, soapy water and use it to clean the grips. Afterward, use another wet cloth (without soap) to rinse off the soap, then finish by drying the grips with a clean towel.

With freshly cleaned, tacky grips, shiny club heads, and clean grooves, you'll feel just a bit more confident stepping up to your next shot compared to using dirty clubs.
