Now that you have your clubs, gear, and training tools ready, it's time to find the right golf bag. As a beginner, you can choose from three main types: cart bag, stand/carry bag, and Sunday bag.
Cart Bag
A cart bag is made for use on a golf cart. It has a heavier bottom that fits well on the cart. Cart bags come with big pockets and can hold all 14 clubs.
One good thing about cart bags is the dividers at the top. These help keep your clubs from rubbing together and getting damaged.
The pockets are built to keep things neat. You'll find special spots for balls, your rangefinder, and valuables, so you're always ready.
Carry/Stand Bag
A carry or stand bag is best for golfers who like walking the course. This bag is much lighter than a cart bag, but it usually has fewer dividers for your clubs.
You can still use a stand bag on a cart. Just know that your clubs won't have as much protection as they would in a cart bag.
Many beginners like the stand bag because it gives you options. If you decide to walk the course, this bag makes it easy.
Later, if you start playing more and add more clubs, you may want to upgrade to a full-size golf bag.
